Your privacy is of paramount importance to us. CineScope (the "App") is designed with an offline-first philosophy, prioritizing the security and confidentiality of your data. CineScope is a movie and TV discovery and tracking companion — it does not stream, host, or download video content, and it does not require account creation or login. This Privacy Policy details what information we process, how third-party services operate, and your choices regarding data collection.

1. Local Data Processing & Storage

CineScope does not transmit your personal library to external servers. All personal logs and content you create or manage are stored securely and directly on your device:

• Library Data: Your watchlists, favorites, and custom collections.
• Personal Journaling: Private movie ratings and notes.
• App Preferences: Display name, theme selections, followed actors, and release reminder configurations.

This data is held in local iOS storage interfaces (such as UserDefaults and local app containers) and is not accessible by us or any unauthorized third parties.

2. Third-Party Data Sources (TMDB API)

To provide you with rich movie information, the App fetches public media metadata (posters, synopses, cast lists, release dates) dynamically from The Movie Database (TMDB). This retrieval creates a direct connection between your device and TMDB servers.

• We do not share any user account or personal library data with TMDB.
• This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. You can read more about their terms at themoviedb.org.

3. Google AdMob & Advertising Disclosures

We display advertisements in the App to support development costs. Specifically, we show advertisements (such as full-screen interstitial ads) using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob).

Google AdMob is a third-party advertising partner that may collect, process, and use device-specific data to serve and measure advertisements. This data may include:

• Your device's IP address and general location.
• Device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier / IDFA).
• Ad interaction events (taps, impressions, and dismissal metadata).

4. Personalized Tracking Consent (IDFA)

For users on iOS 14.5 and newer, the App requests your permission to track ad-related activities via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. If you consent, Google AdMob uses your device's IDFA to serve personalized, relevant ads. If you decline, AdMob will only serve non-personalized ads, which may be less relevant to you.

You can modify your tracking permissions at any time through your iOS device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

5. Advertising and Analytics

We use Google AdMob to display ads within the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers (including your device's advertising identifier), IP address, usage and interaction data, and diagnostic/performance data to personalize ads, measure ad performance, and improve app stability.

We use this data to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for personalized advertising purposes. On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any tracking occurs. You can change this permission anytime in your device's Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they won't be personalized.

6. Age Gate & Child Safety Compliance

CineScope includes a dedicated age gate. Users can declare whether they are under 13 years of age. If a user is designated as under 13:

• All third-party advertising services (Google AdMob) are fully bypassed and disabled.
• No network requests are sent to AdMob servers, and no advertisements of any kind are loaded or displayed.
• No device identifiers (IDFA) or ad tracking behaviors are collected.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Because all your personal lists, ratings, and notes are stored strictly on-device, uninstalling the App will permanently delete all your data. We do not maintain backups of your local library data on external servers. Please ensure you back up your device using standard Apple iCloud/Finder backups to preserve your local data.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate modifications by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any updates.
